Academic Profile

Fontes Lima's career has focused on the issues of transports and logistics services performance. He has worked in research, teaching and service since 1984. Before 1996, at Polytechnic Engineering School of University of São Paulo (USP), He was Lecturer per 7 years. Now He is Associate Professor at Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning Faculty of State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). The Fontes Lima’s main work focus is modeling and analysis of logistics and transports performance using design methods and operational research. With 28 experience years in transport, logistics and services, Fontes Lima has also been involved in applied research through university agreements with public and private companies. He had a sabbatical year at Bournemouth University (2007) and maintains many relationships with international Logistics and Transports researchers groups among them BIBA - Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH (Production Logistics), Bremen University, German.  In addition to teaching and research activities, Fontes Lima was Mayor of Campinas State University (1998-2001), and now He is  LALT Learning Lab in Logistics and Transport Coordinator of  FEC DGT UNICAMP Brazil, CNPq National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development Researcher, ANPET President (National Association for Research and Education in Transport), and CLUB Brazilian Urban Logistics Center Coordinator and External Relationships Coordinator of FEC.
